The bill, proposed by State Senator Dan Patrick, would require that women seeking an abortion get a sonograph, which would show them an image of their fetus, and hear a doctor’s explanation of the physical characteristics of the fetus and hear an audio of its heartbeat. Women seeking an abortion would also be given alternatives to having an abortion 24 hours before getting the procedure.
