is there a reason it made sense to get jane fonda a radio station, but not to work to organize at least one feminist radio station in every state of the US during the open application period for radio stations?
YES YES YES. Hey everyone, let’s pick our favorite famous white lady and pool our resources together to bolster her cred! Meanwhile the rest of us have to sit through endless meetings and struggle to organize dinky little fundraising events to provide the tiniest bit of support for our communities. I know, every bit counts. But it IS mighty aggravating to see so much priority placed on funding the projects of celebufems by mainstream feminists. It’s aggravating to see the thousands of dollars thrown at them to speak at a university for 15 minutes, while local grassroots organizations and projects struggle to survive.
Also the post that preceded this one is what this pertains to, and is [literally] right on the money.

there was an open application for radio stations? And they thought that Jane Fonda was the only one who deserved one?!
