yoursecretary:
it is difficult to read tarot for people when they are high or drunk. it is also difficult to read tarot for your entire family and tell them things like “you love to struggle. your life is perfect but you can’t see it because you have a need to be in constant motion - foward, backward, up, and down” esp when other family members are making faces because they know it is sooooooooooooo true.
my family thinks i should start charging to read people’s cards and it is something i am considering. it is daunting as i worry people will want to see actual results if they are paying me. also i hate when people ask about their romantic relationships because if you have to ask tarot that usually means your relationship is in the crapper.
IT’S FUNNY BECAUSE IT’S TRUE
But really, maybe you should offer your services at parties and keep a tip jar? I’ve done that in very difficult times, and managed to make some cash.

Can anyone tell me what deck this is from?
Reading Tarot again. Only for myself though, at least for now. It’s been a while. The last time I felt so mentally and spiritually drained, I needed a long, long break. I felt like I had to relearn how to use my intuition again without the cards. Tarot readers, does this ever happen to you?

look at this fucking valentine!
I drew us a Tarot card, based on The Lovers from the Coleman-Smith Deck. (A little touch of punx: instead of sending each other <3’s we send each other <666’s.)
In this month’s Tarot reading:
The card that lands in the Challenges/Opportunities position refers to ways that you can turn obstacles into stepping stones.
When the Page of Swords (in some decks, a Princess) is in this position, sharpen your mind and raise your intellectual and intuitive antennae. Recognize the patterns of thinking affecting those around you. You have an opportunity to influence the assumptions of those who interact with you on a daily basis. By using new vocabulary and presenting new ideas, you can change conditions and help refine or upgrade shared goals. Raise awareness with quiet but steady input from the sidelines. The Page does not draw attention to himself. He positions himself in the world as a servant of powerful people; he or she is often the source for their better thinking. Perhaps at present your greatest strength is your humility.
(I have never understood this card as well as I do right now.)

“The man sat across from me, arms folded, shaking his head. “I don’t see how that can happen” he said adamantly when the cards indicated a new love possibility and a new job or promotion. “Those cards are telling me that these new things are coming and I can’t imagine it. I have never had a relationship and my job is stagnant.” The frown on his face indicated that he was not going to hear one thing that the cards had to say unless it corroborated his own negative mindset.
I shrugged and told him to give it time. A year later, he came back with his dark cloud in tow. “Those cards were dead wrong – nothing happened for me!” His voice was smug but his face held a scowl. It was obvious that he was mad that the cards failed him – but he also seemed to feel vindicated that he had been “right”.
Then the conversation took an interesting turn. The man began to tell me how he did indeed meet someone, but “butchered it due to his own hang ups”. He further elaborated that he applied for a job but didn’t get it and stopped looking for other options. In other words, the opportunity for love and perhaps new work was there – but he sabotaged it, therefore creating his own negative self fulfilling prophecy. (Read more…)
